Urachal cancer is a type of cancer that develops in a structure called the urachus. The urachus is canal located behind the belly button that connects the bladder and typically shrivels away after birth. It drains the urinary bladder of the fetus. A tumor growing in the urachus is hard to detect and sometimes presents itself through blood in the urine. This cancer is also a sporadic form that only accounts for 0.2 percent of bladder cancers.
Urachal cancer will often extend into surrounding organs, such as the bladder, and can potentially spread to other areas of the body. Unfortunately, the exact underlying cause of urachal cancer is still not fully determined. Most urachal cancers are adenocarcinomas, which are cancers that develop from gland cells. Nonetheless, others may be sarcomas, small cell carcinomas, transitional cell cancer, and mixed neoplasias.
The known side effects of urachal cancer include persistent umbilical discharge, lower abdominal pain, urinary tract infection, lump, pain on urination, fever, hematuria, pain around the belly button area, urination difficulty, blood in urine, mucus in urine, belly button discharge, belly button discharge, belly button bleeding, pain above the pubic area, and a lump above the pubic area.
The body systems harmed by urachal cancer include the urinary and immune system.
There is no information on what foods or nutrients prevent urachal cancer. Nonetheless, some foods can help keep the urinary system healthy. These include organic fermented dairy products, such as yogurt, sour milk, sour, cream, and cheese; berry juices, such as blueberry and cranberry juices; and cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, and kale.
Natural treatment options for cancer, in general, include adhering to a ketogenic diet, juicing greens and eating sprouts, eating fermented foods, supplementing with vitamin D, consuming turmeric, eating high-enzyme foods, and detoxification.
Conventional treatment for urachal cancer often involves surgery to remove the affected areas of the urachus, belly button, surrounding tissue, and all or part of the bladder.
